SPIED Fiat 500 XL with 7 Seater

Fiat 500 XL is the stretched back version of Fiat 500 L. Fiat 500 L is based on the small Fiat 500 hatch back. Last year we brought you the details of 500 L and 500 XL. This is the first time that the Fiat 500 XL has caught on camera. Fiat has increased the length by 200mm to the 500 XL from 500 L to get the additional two seats in the rear.

Fiat 500 XL Spied

From the picture we can see that Fiat has not done well with integration of last row in to the design. Roof line comes down to the second row and goes flat to the Rear. Fiat design language is very famous and must have done it better. But Fiat 500 XL is not designed to be a stunning looking MPV instead they want something which is very practical.

With the Addition of the last row Fiat 500 XL makes good sense for India. Fiat 500 XL will be a rival for Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Indians love 7 seat configuration and Fiat is capitalizing on it. Fiat 500 XL will be powered by two petrol and diesel engines. Petrol engines are 1.4 L engine which makes 95 BHP of power and 0.9 L Turbo charged engine giving 105 BHP of power.

Diesel engines are 1.3 L Multijet giving 85 BHP of power and 1.6 L Multijet producing 105 BHP of power. We can expect Fiat to bring the 1.6 L engine to India. This will give a good advantage for 500 XL over the ertiga which uses Fiat 1.3 L Multijet engine. Production of 500 XL will start at the end of may in Kragujevac. Fiat 500 XL is surely coming to India but we don’t have any specific date to give you. We expect 2014 Launch.
